LEXTRAN's Service to UK games

LexTran's UK Football Express Ready to Roll

Lexington, KY- Beginning with the University of Kentucky’s home opener September 19th with Louisville, LexTran will again provide an on-campus circulator for designated UK parking garages in addition to the Downtown Shuttle to and from Commonwealth Stadium. The UK Football Express, a partnership between LexTran and UK Athletics, will operate a Campus Shuttle for fans using parking structures #2, #3, and #6.  Designated pick-up points include the corner of Rose Street and Huguelet Drive and in front of Kentucky Clinic off Nicholasville Rd.  While parking at the designated parking structures is free, the Campus Shuttle service is $2 each way. Fans will be dropped off on University Drive near Cooper Drive.  This location will also serve as the pick-up point for fans returning to the garages at game’s end. Drop-off after the game will be at Rose and Huguelet. The Campus Shuttle begins operating two hours before kickoff, suspends 30 minutes after kickoff, resumes at the beginning of the 4th quarter, and continues until an hour after the game is over.

The Downtown Shuttle will provide service from the Transit Center, 200 Vine Street; Shops at Lexington Center, 430 Vine Street (corner of Vine Street and Broadway); Ramsey’s Restaurant, 496 E. High Street at the corner of Woodland Avenue; and, a new location near Lynagh’s Grill (corner of Woodland and Euclid Avenues). Fare for the Downtown Shuttle is $5 roundtrip, $2.50 one way.

The Downtown Shuttle begins service to Commonwealth Stadium three hours before kickoff, suspends 30 minutes after kickoff, resumes during the fourth quarter, and operates until an hour after game’s end. All drop-offs will be on University Drive at Cooper Drive.  Pickups after the game will be at University and Complex Drive for return service to the downtown area (including Lynagh’s, Ramsey’s, Vine @ Broadway and Transit Center).

“We are pleased to partner once again with the University of Kentucky in making it even more convenient for football fans to attend home games,” said LexTran General Manager Rocky Burke.  “With all of the excitement surrounding UK football and a total of seven home games, we hope fans will see the UK Football Express as a convenient, cost-effective way to get to and from the stadium,” he added.

Tickets for the Downtown Shuttle will be available for purchase at the Transit Center and at LexTran’s administrative office, 109 W. Loudon Avenue.  In addition, tickets will be available on game day at the corner of Vine and Broadway, Ramsey’s Restaurant, 496 E. High Street, and Lynagh’s, 384 Woodland Avenue. Parking is free on Saturdays at the downtown transit center garage.

Campus Shuttle fare is cash only (exact, no change). To view maps of the Downtown and Campus Shuttles, visit: http://fbgameday.ukathletics.com/shuttle.html
